Joseph S. Smith

Joseph Sidney Smith, Sr. 82 of Huntington, WV, went to his heavenly home on Monday February 10, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Dean Borgmeyer officiating. Entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. He was born September 6, 1931 in Huntington the son of the late, Edgar E. and Mary Spurlock Smith. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert P. and LeRoy Smith and a very special friend Tater Clay. He owned and operated Smith's Exterminating for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served in the US Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lorene A. Dotson Smith, his children, Medora L. Mayes, Joseph S. (Jeannie) Smith, Jr. and Deborah L. Smith, one sister, Xilpha M. (John)May, eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.beardmortuary.com.
