John F. Wright, 57, of Crown City, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 15th, 2025, at OSU Medical Center. John was born December 4th, 1968, in Ironton, Ohio to the late John Baxter Wright and Vina Louise Wright.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kayla Wright; a brother, Frankie Wright, and grandparents Emory and Garnet Fields. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Wright of Proctorville; his daughter, Alexis (Jason) Howard of Crown City, and a grandson, Maddox; one sister, Ruth Ann (Rick) Farmer of Ironton; a niece, Brittany (Mikkael) Ison and a great niece, Aubree Ison all of Ironton; two special cousins, Justin and Randy Lavender; two aunts, Clara Stapleton and Nancy McHenry; two uncles, Mike Wheeler and Lawrence Fields, as well as many cousins and close friends. Some very special friends of John’s include MK, Joe, Heath, Dave, and Punkin.

John was a 1987 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He loved spending time with family and friends and having large cookouts. John also had a love for racing. The races are where he met some of his closest friends. John also enjoyed detailing cars. John was a proud father and grandfather. His kids and grandson were the light of his life. John never met a stranger and was a big teddy bear with a huge heart.

John will be remembered for a heart that gave freely and a spirit that never failed to find joy, even in difficult moments. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were lucky enough to know and love him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will be invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life well lived. In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Please leave a condolence for John’s family on his online guestbook.
