Jimmy Dale Ross

Jimmy Dale Ross, 79, of Barboursville, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016. Born on November 25, 1936 in Huntington, he was a son of the late William Jennings Ross and Glenna Berry Ross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Ross and his son, Jimmy D. Ross Jr., who passed away on July 4, 2016. Jimmy was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and an avid hunter and fisherman. In his free time he enjoyed singing gospel music. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie L. (Ricky) Cerny of Cleveland, OH; his sisters, Ferrol L. Colton of Barboursville, Joann Duncan of Lesage, Selena Maynard of Lavalette, Karen Lane of Huntington and Judy Adkins of Barboursville; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him more than life itself. Jimmy's granddaughter, Amber Marie Dalton, passed away shortly after him in Cleveland, Ohio. The family would like to thank the Hospice of Huntington and extend special thanks to Angie Clagg for her care and support. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Beard Mortuary in Huntington, with Pastor Tony Mays and Pastor Ron Page, co-officiating. Burial with Military honors will follow at Arthur Cemetery in Ona. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
