Jessalee Handley

JESSALEE HANDLEY, 92, of Huntington, WV passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Joseph L. Handley, Sr. She was born on October 23, 1922 a daughter of the late Gallie (Buck) Adkins and Carrie L. Chapman Adkins. She was also preceded in death by brothers Carl and Clive Adkins and sisters, Avis Adkins, McKendra, Mazie Adkins Dixon and Glenice Adkins Smith. Also preceding her in death were her paternal Grandparents, Basil and Phoebe Howard Adkins and maternal grandparents, Andrew and Mary Chapman. Survivors include her only son, Joseph L. Handley, Jr.; former daughter-in-law Nancie L. Handley Midkiff (who was like a daughter to her), Sherry and Gail; grandsons Todd Handley, Troy Handley (wife Natasha who was a caregiver for two years), Jason Handley; and granddaughter Jody L. Cline; great grandchildren Whittney Handley, Courtney Handley Lawhorn, Hunter and McKenzie Cline and Emma. She was a member of Highlawn Baptist Church for many years. She will always be remembered for the classy lady she was. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Dr. Ricky Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Memorial Cemetery in Milton, WV.
