Janice Ann Mays

Janice Ann Mays, 73, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. Mary's Medical Center.  Born January 19, 1938, Janice was the daughter of the late Howard Bartholomew and Opal Hall.  She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Natasha Strathman.  Janice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her number one priority was her family.  She is survived by her husband, Herman; four children, Belinda (Earl) McFarland of Palestine, TX, Vickie Mays of Huntington, Julie (Lawrence) Stathman of Ona and Herman Mays, Jr. of Huntington; two sisters, Norma Swann of Milton and Geneva Rice of Huntington; two brothers, Rex Bartholomew of Milton and Richard Bartholomew of Barboursville; five grandchildren, Christopher (Shannon) Perego, Kimberly Schwab, Joanna McChristian, Christina (Jonathan) Roe and Christopher Strathman; eight great grandchildren, Taylor Perego, Cecilia Perego-Sanchez, Natasha Perego, Savannah Perego, Steven Perego, Paige Schwab, Kendall Schwab and Abigail Roe.  Funeral services will be private.  Beard Mortuary, Huntington is assisting the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to breast cancer awareness.  The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Mary's for the loving care they gave Janice.  Online condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.beardmortuary.com
