Jane Klein Muth

JANE KLEIN MUTH, 94, of Huntington, W. Va. died Wednesday February 29, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jane will be remembered as a devout Catholic and a loving and devoted wife, but mostly as the mother of twelve children who already miss her dearly. She was born on October 23, 1917 in Ashland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Francis and William Klein, and attended Holy Family School before moving to Huntington where she graduated from St. Joseph's High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, William H. "Bill" Muth, and two brothers William Klein and Robert Klein. Jane is survived by her twelve children and their spouses including Bill and Judy Muth, Mike and Cokey Muth, Tim and Susan Muth, Dick and Kit Muth, all of Huntington, Fred and Cathy Muth of Bluefield, Va., Steve and Chris Muth of Cheyenne, Wy., Jerry and Lisa Muth of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tom and Sally Muth of Atlanta, Ga., Mary Jane Muth and Caryn Cross of Milwaukee, Wis., Pete and Margaret Muth, Jeff and Susie Smith, and John and Jeannie Bauer, all of Huntington; twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Ruth Klein of Wheeling, W. Va. and Betty Malmquist of Arlington, Texas; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Jane was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was admired by all for her gentle and humble nature and her great love for her family. Jane was a strong believer in the Catholic education system and supported it throughout her life. Her children will remember her as a selfless giver, comforter and consoler and will forever be grateful for the privilege of being her children. Friends may come and visit with the family at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. A mass will be said following the visitation. Immediately after friends and relatives are then invited to a gathering at the Knights of Columbus to celebrate the life of Jane Muth. The family wants to thank the loving caregivers who helped make her life better during her final years including Beverly Sweet, Misty Sisters, Teresa Slone and Lindsey Johnson. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Robbie Muth, Joe Muth, Jeff Muth, Mark Muth, John Muth, Nathan Muth, Petie Muth, Jeffiey Smith and Jamie Powell.
