James Allen "Jim" Porter

James Allen "Jim" Porter, 54, of Huntington, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 in St. Mary's Medical Center.  Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 at Thomas Memorial Free Will Baptist Church, Guyandotte, with the Rev. Tony Smith and Bill Leffingwell officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.  He was born May 22, 1954 in Huntington, a son of the late Ann Christian.  He was a member and trustee of Thomas Memorial Free Will Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife, Bonita Scarberry Porter; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Jody O'Dell and Jennifer and Patrick Huston, both of Huntington; five grandchildren, Corey Porter-Pitts, Keirstin Porter, Logan O'Dell, Levi Smith and Porter Huston; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Michael Hill of Decatur, AL and Sandee and George Scarberry of Columbus, OH; niece, Shawnda Blevins of Ona; nephew, Bryan McClure of Russell, KY and a large host of extended family and special friends.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.  Online condolences may be sent at www.beardmortuary.com
