James Walter Hensley

James Walter Hensley, 86, of Huntington, widower of Charlotte Bryant Hensley, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. He was born on September 17, 1923 in Huntington, a son to the late Roy and Victoria Perry Hensley. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one son, James Michael Hensley; and one brother, Roy Hensley Jr. He is survived by one son, Robert (Joyce) Harold of Powhatan, VA; two daughters, Vicki (Jim) Porter of Avon Park, FL and Connie (Rod) Elkins of Huntington; one sister, Kathryn Powers of Midlothian, VA; three grandchildren, Melissa (Tracy) Cooper of Barboursville, Samantha Elkins of Huntington, and Rodney Elkins Jr. of Huntington; two great grandchildren, Kristen and Emily, and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a host other family members. The family would like to thank Jo and Raymond with Hospice of Huntington for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to help with medical and funeral expenses. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Ron Burnsworth officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from noon until time of the service at the mortuary.
