James Russell Caldwell

August 21, 1937 — December 23, 2009

James Russell "Jim" Caldwell, 72 of Lesage, WV went to be recieved by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday December 23, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1:00 PM at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Simon Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.  He was born August 21, 1937 in Lesage, WV a son of the late George R. and Irene Hughes Caldwell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ruth Carson.   He was a retired salesman for Dubois Chemical Company.  He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member and deacon of the Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church where he was known for helping the kids ring the church bell on Sunday's. He enjoyed his time with friends the "blow baggers" at the Proctorville McDonalds and the Local 37 lunch club. He was an avid deer and turkey hunter and bass fisherman.  He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 47 years, Donna Carson Caldwell; three brothers, Richard Caldwell and wife, Barbara; Lowell Caldwell and wife, Lois and Donald Caldwell and friend, Patty all of Huntington; a sister, Cherie Morrison and her husband, Donald of Barboursville, WV; his father-in-law, Donnie Carson; four nieces, three nephews, nine great nieces and nephews one great great-nephew, his special friends, Ben, Kay and Virginia and a host of other friends and neighbors.
