Jackie "Jack" D. Pullen, 87 of Huntington, W.Va., passed away at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington on Saturday, February 17, 2024. He was born January 8, 1937 in West Hamlin, W.Va. to Dallas and Margaret (Fugate) Pullen.
Jack was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as Chief of the Reprographics section in 1992. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting and was a member of various hunting clubs and organizations. He was an avid knife collector as well. Jack loved gardening and flowers, especially zinnias. He loved all his children and grandchildren and had a special relationship with his grandson Eric Ashworth.
Jack is survived by his wife, Vickie Pullen; children, Debbie Pullen Ray, Johnna Harshbarger, Jason (Pamela) Ashworth and Jerry (Debbie) Pullen; grandchildren, Eric Ashworth, Mary Lynn (Anthony) Lawhon, Ryan (Bailie) Ashworth, Alexander Haddox, Blake Ashworth and Sophia Haddox and great grandchildren, Lily Tran and Connor Tran. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph Pullen; sister, Creda Gay Pullen Edge and brother, Ted Pullen.
Visitation will be at Beard Mortuary on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11 AM until 12 Noon. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 Noon with Pastor Shirley Ball officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow the services at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.beardmortuary.com.
