Jack A. Patrick, 87 of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away peacefully after an extended illness, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Cabell Healthcare Center. He was born January 23, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Winfred Earl and Elinor Patrick.

Jack graduated from Huntington East High School. He attended Marshall University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He was a Registered Professional Engineer. Jack worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 34 years, retiring in 1998. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huntington. He was a long-time, avid fan of Marshall University football. Jack had a wonderful wit and great sense of humor, always making everyone laugh.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his stepson, Bradley Evans; grandson, Brennen Curtis, and brother-in-law, Bud Angus. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Wheeler Patrick; children, Greg Patrick of Saginaw, MI and Lisa (Curtis) Kiefer of Indianapolis, IN; stepson, Brent (Tiffany) Evans of Milton, GA; grandchildren, Trey (Olivia Szwalbnest ) Curtis and Taylor Curtis; step-grandchildren, Connor Evans and Skylar Evans; great grandchildren, Alice Curtis and Max Curtis; sisters, Patricia (Jim) Dutton of Santa Monica, CA and Bonnie Angus of Decatur, GA and brothers and sisters-in-law, Sid (Kathy) Wheeler, Bill (Dorthy) Wheeler, John (Chantica) Wheeler.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Beard Mortuary, with Rev. Scott Sears officiating. Jack’s family will greet friends beforehand from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow the services, in Woodmere Memorial Park.
