Jack Cornett

Jack Cornett 83 of Lexington, KY formerly of Huntington, WV died Thursday December 11, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Beard Mortuary. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park.  He was born November 18, 1925 in Huntington a son of the late Ward L. and Stella Clayton Cornett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Lee Cornett and a sister Alma Frances Allen. Jack and his wife, Helen were the former owners of Rosalie's Flowers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was a member of VFW Post 9738 whose members will conduct military rites. He is survived by his wife, Helen Meisel Cornett; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Leslie Cornett and Jack Cornett, Jr. and Lucy all of Lexington; four grandsons, Kevin Cornett of Lexington, Kyle Cornett of Nashville, TN and John and William Cornett of Lexington; a brother Ward L. Cornett, Jr. of Beckley, WV and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday after 1:00 PM. at Beard Mortuary.
