Hilda Blair Browning

February 20, 1922 — May 13, 2011

Hilda Blair Browning, 89, of Huntington and recently of Morgantown, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.  She was born February 20, 1922 in Logan County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Charles and Evelyth Childers.  She was a Milton High School Graduate.  She also earned an undergraduate degree from Marshall University and a master's degree from West Virginia University. She taught for 38 years and many of those years at Lincoln Junior High School in Huntington. She was Methodist by faith and attended Highlawn Methodist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Browning, one daughter, Deljean Browing, and her sister, Helen Blake.  She is survived by her daughter and husband, Diana and Richard Meckstroth of Morgantown; two grandsons, Cameron Stevens and wife Pamela of Morgantown; Robert Stevens of San Diego, CA; one great- granddaughter, Isabella Stevens of Morgantown; and a niece and husband Brenda and Tom Boyce of Michigan.  Friends will be received at Beard Mortuary in Huntington, WV on Tuesday, May 17 at 1:00 p.m. with services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington.  Online condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.beardmortuary.com
