Henry Taylor Stewart

HENRY TAYLOR STEWART, 91, of Huntington, husband of Barbara Scarberry Stewart, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on November 8, 1920 in Cabell County, a son of the late Oliver and Georgia Hardy Stewart. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Barbara, he is survived by a son, David (Ladonna) Stewart of Barboursville; daughter Karen (Jon) Simpson of Chesapeake, OH; brothers, Chester (Wilma) Stewart of Mt. Orab, OH and Russell Stewart of Chesapeake, OH; sister Margaret Eppel of Pontiac, IL; grandchildren, Erin (Jason) Spears, Elizabeth Ann Stewart, Tyler B. Stewart, Laura Simpson, Kelli Ann Simpson and Kara Simpson; great-grandchild, Amelia Spears. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Patricia Meadows; grand-daughter, Carrie Meadows; brothers, George, Theodore, Paul and Roy Stewart; sisters, Verna Brown, Phoebe Stewart and Barbara Jane Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a retired leak inspector for Columbia Gas Company and a four year Veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country during WWII. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomas Memorial Freewill Baptist Church, Huntington, with Rev. Rick Black officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.
