Helen Simms Tomlinson

HELEN SIMMS TOMLINSON, 100, of Huntington, WV, widow of Edward "Bud" Tomlinson, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 in Kettering, OH. She was born on February 21, 1912 in Huntington, a daughter of the late James and Maude Roth Simms. She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Ronald) Decuir of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Michele (Rob) Markham, Scott (Nancy) Decuir and Craig (Julie) Decuir; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Markham, Kyle, Alec and Natalie Decuir, and Olivia and Lucas Decuir; niece, Deborah Simms; and nephew Major Simms Jr. and family. Mrs. Tomlinson was a long-time member of the Highlawn United Methodist Church where she served as church secretary for 24 years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Guyandotte #89. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Steve Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call one hour before the service at the mortuary.
