HELEN GAIL ROBBINS, 81, of Huntington, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 13, 2017.  She was born July 2, 1935, in Huntington, WV, the daughter of the late Henry Richard Smith  and Bernice Marie Fannin Smith.    She was preceded in death by her son Steven Mark Robbins; brother-in-law Ernest Merritt; sisters-in-law Patricia Smith and Billie Smith.  Surviving are son SSG Robert A. Robbins, Jr. and wife Pandora Punilei-Robbins of Suffolk, VA, and daughter Cynthia Robbins Condrey and husband Rev. James H. Condrey of Belpre, OH; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Gayle Robbins, PFC Thomas James Condrey, HMSN  Kenneth Robert Robbins, PV2 Keoki H. Medina and wife Tasey and Ricco Punilei-Johnston; great grandchildren, Ethan Michael Johnson, Kamaya Jayde Medina and Ayden Blane Medina; sister Lois Merritt; brother Robert K. Smith; close friend Vivian Atkinson; former husband and father of her children, Robert A. Robbins, Sr. and her beloved cat Isaac.  Helen was a graduate of Huntington High School and retired from Cabell County Public Library where she worked in the cataloguing department for over 41 years.  She was a charter member of the New Baptist Church having been a long-time member of the former 20th Street Baptist Church.  She served as a Sunday School teacher, an AWANA helper, and a member of the Board of Missions of the Church. Before her final illness, she had a record seven years of perfect attendance in Sunday School.  She was known as the "Card Lady" for her ministry of clever and pertinent cards sent to church members on many occasions. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 18, 2017 at New Baptist Church with Pastor Trent Eastman officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.  Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Beard Mortuary.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to New Baptist Church or Medi Hospice of Belpre OH.
