Helen L. Cornett

Helen Meisel Cornett, 83, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Huntington passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon, KY. She was born on November 28, 1925 in Huntington, WV a daughter to the late Alfred and Oakley Meisel. She was a 1943 graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Huntington, WV after which she worked for the C & P Telephone Company. She later became involved in the insurance industry in claims work for Aetna Life Insurance, Home Life, and Thompson Kemper in Ashland, KY. She and her husband were also co-owners of Rosalie's Flowers in Huntington, WV from 1979 until they retired in 1996.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cornett. She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Mike and Leslie Cornett of Lexington, KY and Jack Jr. and Lucy Cornett of Lexington, KY; and four grandsons, Kevin, Kyle, John and William Cornett of Lexington, KY. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Huntington, WV with Father Jim Sobus officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Beard Mortuary, 3001 3rd Ave., Huntington, WV.
