Hazel Davis

January 6, 1908 — February 8, 2010

Hazel Davis 102 of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House surrounded by family and friends. Born in Cabell County January 6, 1908 she was the daughter of the late U.S. Davis and Louisa Cobb Davis.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ruben (an infant) Clarence, Halley, Wilbur and a special brother, Grant Davis.  She is survived by her devoted sister Marigold Davis with whom she made her home. Marigold is now the last remaining member of the family.  Hazel retired in 1970 with 42 years of service with The Huntington Manufacturing Company. In addition to her sister Marigold, survivors include a special niece, Nellie Plybon of Scottown, OH; a special great niece, Mary Coughenour Murphy, nieces, Mary Ellen Davis and Ulah Plybon of Huntington, Elinor Hayes of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by her nephews, Dr. Ira Plybon and Norman Davis of Huntington and Dr. Ben Plybon of Indianapolis, IN. Hazel was a gentle kind person who devoted her life to her family and was loved by all who knew her well. A special thanks to June Wilson at St. Mary's Medical Center for all the special attention and kindness given to Hazel.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Paul Holton officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 PM at Beard Mortuary.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Huntington.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.beardmortuary.com.
