Garland Denver Edmonds, 90, of Huntington, WV departed his earthly home and entered his Heavenly home on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Beard Mortuary with Dr. Allen Reasons, Pastor of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in Huntington where Garland was a member, officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. He was born on March 17, 1919 in Milton, WV, a son to the late Manuel Jackson and Virgie Lee Miller Edmonds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Helen Anderson Edmonds in 1998; brothers Calvin, Carl, and Curtis Edmonds; and his sister Neoma Adams. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Bud Harbour of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law Neola and Raymond Ball of Hurricane; and several nieces, nephews, and relatives from his wife's family.
