Gail (Lewis) Thornburg

Gail Thornburg, 89, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024.  Gail was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Thelma Lewis, but moved to Huntington in her teens and was a graduate of Huntington East High School and Marshall University.  She was married to the love of her life, George Thornburg, for 59 years until his passing in 2012, and together they operated Thornburg's Food Market on 29th Street for 37 years. She is survived by her children, Lisa Thornburg, Amy (Kim) Smith, and George Allen Thornburg, Jr., along with her grandchildren Michelle, Kristi, Nicky, David, Karen, Tommy, Zachary and Zane Allen, her great grandchildren Christopher, Peggy, Hannah, Wyatt, Amelia, Sadie, Max and Aria, and her sister Bonnie Davis.  At her request, there will be no services. She will be greatly missed but will continue to bring smiles to our family through our memories of her.  Please leave an online condolence for the family on her tribute wall.
