Francisco V. Galvez, Jr.

Francisco V. Galvez, Jr., LLB, CPA, 82, of Huntington passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009.  Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church with Pastor William Haynes officiating.  Entombment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.  He was born April 30, 1927 in Manila, Philippines, a son of the late Rev. & Mrs. Francisco Galvez, Sr.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers.  He graduated law at the University of the Philippines and received a B.B.A. in accounting at Far Eastern University, Philippines.  He came to the United States in 1972 with his family.  He held several positions in various organizations in South Carolina and West Virginia.  He was Vice President and Auditor for several years for the Tri-State Philippines American Association and was President of the Rotary Club in Spencer, WV.  He is a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dr. Rosalia Cenon Galvez, a retired Psychiatrist; his only son and daughter-in-law, Francisco "Jimmy" III and Jean Galvez of Huntington; his only grandson, Collin; and three sisters, Sally, Rebecca and Josephine.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.  Online condolences may be sent at www.beardmortuary.com
