Emery Eugene Patterson

EMERY EUGENE PATTERSON, 83, of Huntington, passed away on Monday at his residence. He was born on September 16, 1927 in Huntington, IN, a son of the late Walter and Bertha Coll Patterson. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Walter W. Patterson, Helen Gwilliams and Maurice Sinnett. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris Hall Patterson; nephews Steve (Judy) Gwilliams, Walter (Ruth) Patterson and David (Dana) Ramsey; nieces Patricia, Sheree, Joyce, Glenna, Debbie and their spouses; sister-in-law, Tressie Patterson; and special friends, Connie Elkins and Sue Meadows. Mrs. Patterson wishes to express a special thank you to caregivers Gary Webb and Virgil Newman. Mr. Patterson was a retired Huntington Police Officer, a member of the Walnut Hills Baptist Church and was the owner of the Huntington Gun Shop where he also customized lamps and did Aladdin service. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Joe Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park.
