Dorothy Dean Felty

Dorothy Dean Felty, 86, of Huntington, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.  She was born November 20, 1922 a daughter of the late Raleigh and Edith Jackson.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Gideon Dean; and her second husband, Ralph Felty.  She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Dean of Ronceverte, WV; her son, Dr. Rodney Dean and his wife, Donna of Charleston, WV; two grandsons, Dr. Scott Dean and his wife, Stacey of Charleston, WV and Attorney Chad Dean and his wife, Kristen of Jacksonville, FL; two great grandchildren, Ava and Chandler Dean of Charleston, WV; one sister, Patricia Woodard of Asheville, NC.  Mrs. Felty was a member of Highlawn Baptist Church, where she formerly served on the Advisory Board and Deconess Board.  She was a member of the Homebuilders Association and a retired Vice President of Huntington Federal Savings and Loan.  She was a resident of Woodlands Retirement Community.  Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Jim Franklin officiating.  Entombment will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington.  Friends may call from 1 until time of the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.beardmortuary.com.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Huntington.
