Deborah Lynne (Hodge) Runyon

Deborah Lynne Runyon, 67, formerly of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 at St. Mary's Medical Center, with her family by her side. She had currently been residing in Sarasota, FL, but would come back over the years to visit her area family and friends.

She was born March 19, 1957 in Huntington to the late Rex R. and Hope J. (Shelton) Hodge. Deborah married James C. "Corkey" Runyon on June 3, 1974 in Huntington and they were able to spend many wonderful years together before his passing in 2017.

Deborah worked for many years as an assistant within the court systems, previously in Cabell Magistrate Court and most recently in U.S. Federal Probation, before her retirement.

She is survived by her son, James C. Runyon, II; granddaughter, Jaylen Wright and sisters, Hope E.(Mike) Romine and Paula K. (Elvis) Presley.

Her greatest source of comfort has been her fur babies, Sarah, Jackson, Brady, Tallie and grand fur baby, Pugsley. Her love for them was paramount in her life.

Per Deborah's request, no services will be held. She will be inurned next to her husband, at Sarasota National Cemetery, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Veterans Association, Cancer research, Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Control Shelter or any charity you wish.
