Dana V. Sayre, Jr.

Dana V. Sayre, Jr., 91, of Barboursville, passed away Friday, April 26, 2008 at the Inn at Wyngate.  Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Dr. Allen Reasons officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park.  He was born July 10, 1916 in Huntington, a son of the late Dana V. and Sarah Ann Sellards Sayre.  He was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul Bernard Sayre.  Mr. Sayre was a former member of Central Christian Church, Huntington.  He worked at Minter Homes Lumber Company many years and later worked for the WV Food Stamp Program.  He is survived by his wife, Irene Welch Sayre; one daughter, Carolyn Sayre Sheils and her husband, John P. Sheils, MD; grandson, John Taylor Sheils and his wife, Rosalinda Rhodes of Sarasota, FL; one granddaughter, Julie Ann Dweck-Rodriguez and her husband, Ramon of Miami, FL; great grandchildren, Alexis Megan Collins and her husband, Edwin of Vernon, AL, Jonathan Dweck, Christopher Dweck, Jacob Dweck and Joseph Rodriguez of Miami, FL; great-great granddaughters, Katie Collins and Juliana Collins.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
