Obituary

Dana McDonald, 75, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, with the love of his life, Teresa Ann, by his side, and has entered into eternal peace with God. Dana was born November 19, 1950, and was the son of the late George and Marion McDonald.

Dana retired from the United States Postal Service after 31 years of dedicated service. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast devotion to his family, and the love he had for those closest to him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Ann McDonald; his sons, Travis (Carissa) McDonald and Sean (Casey) McDonald; his cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Emma, Davie, and Finn, who brought him great pride and joy; his sister, George Ann McDonald; his brother, Randy (Eileen) McDonald; his father- and mother-in-law, Richard and Betty Runyan, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved nephew, Troy Haselden.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate care team at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, especially his niece, Holly Jack, for the loving care she provided, and to Hospice of Huntington and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their comfort and support.

Per Dana’s wishes, the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Rd, Huntington, WV 25702, in Dana’s memory. Please leave a condolence for Dana’s family on his guestbook.
