Dallas Ray Moore

September 16, 1932 — July 1, 2024

Huntington

Dallas Ray Moore, 91, of Huntington, WV, entered the arms of his Savior on July 1, 2024 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.  He was born on September 16, 1932 in Stone Coal, WV, a son of the late Esbon and Lydia Spaulding Moore.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Stella Mae Henson.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a dental technician stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

He retired from Special Metals after a long career as the Director of Sales and Marketing.  After retiring from Special Metals, he worked as a consultant for Rath Manufacturing in Janesville, Wisconsin for twenty years.

Survivors include his wife of over 68 years, Wilma Worley Moore; two daughters, Sherry (Jim)Hamilton and Connie Fizer, both of Huntington; his grandchildren, Nathan (Jenny) Hamilton of St. Albans; Bethany (Mike) Lambert of Lesage; and Eric Fizer of Proctorville, Ohio; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Fizer; and one great-granddaughter "on the way", Adalyn Rae Lambert; one sister, Faye (Charlie) Webb of Huntington; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Board of the Huntington City Mission and a former member of the Board of Darco, International.

Dallas's passion in life was serving God and trying to win souls for God's kingdom.  He was a member of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene for over 70 years.  He served in numerous capacities at the church, teaching Sunday School for over 50 years, serving on many church boards, and was a two-time recipient of the Nazarene Church's Distinguished Service Award.  His calling was visiting the sick and bereaved in their homes and in the hospitals.  He conducted countless funerals for many people that he had visited.

Dallas's goal in life until the day of his death was to lead as many people to the Lord as he could.  He was a faithful, steadfast servant of the Lord.  We are certain that he entered Heaven's gates where he heard the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant…Enter into the joy of your Lord."

Funeral services will be conducted at Huntington First Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, and at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dallas's memory to Huntington First Church of the Nazarene or to the Huntington City Mission.
