Charles W. Hensley

Charles W. "Charlie" Hensley, 74, of Kenova, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 in St. Mary's Medical Center.  Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with the Rev. Gary McMullen officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Huntington.  He was born July 26, 1935 in Catlettsburg, KY, a son of the late Charles R. and Madge L. Conley Hensley.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Donna Gail Hensley; one son, Charles W. Hensley, Jr.; and infant sister, Carol Sue Hensley.  Mr. Hensley was extremely passionate about music.  He was a full-time musician known throughout the Tri-State area, having been in several bands during his 52 years of playing music.  He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Kelly Hensley of Huntington; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Glenn Wheeler of Plain City, OH; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Sherry Hensley of Huntington and Jack L. and Debbie Hensley of Greensburg, PA; one sister, Marva Bellomy of Ceredo, WV; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and a very close companion, Louise Ramey of Lavalette, WV.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 16th at the mortuary.  Online condolences may be sent at www.beardmortuary.com
