Billy Ray Strathman

Billy Ray "Bill" Strathman, 68, of Proctorville, OH, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007 in Hospice House of Huntington.  Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  He was born October 11, 1938 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Louis B. and Gussie Dean Strathman.  Mr. Strathman served in the US Air Force and was a member of the VFW Post 9868, the American Legion Post 98 and the Disabled American Veterans unit MD026.  He was retired from the Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Meadows Strathman; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy, Jr. and Dianna Strathman of Mt. Airy, MD; two grandchildren, Julia and Michael Strathman; one brother and sister-in-law, Allen R. and Carmen Strathman of Columbus, OH; one sister, Judith Strathman Barr of Clarksburg, WV and several aunts, cousins and nephews.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington in his memory.
