Billy Jack Pierce Sr.

Billy Jack Pierce Sr., 84, of Huntington, WV, husband of Martha Kennedy Pierce, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his residence. He was born on March 21, 1926 in Huntington, a son of the late Thomas and Clara Johnson Pierce. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Woodrow Pierce; and two sisters, Mildred Mullens and Helen Cremeans. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Billy Jack (Cindy) Pierce Jr. of Freeland, MI; two daughters, Jennifer (Jon) Tipper of Albuquerque, NM and Elizabeth (Steve) Gwilliams of Huntington; three grandchildren, "The Baby" Martha (Tony) Love of Camp Lejeune, NC, John-Paul Gwilliams of Huntington and Jeffrey Tipper of Albuquerque, NM; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Pierce Love of Camp Lejeune, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews.  Mr. Pierce was retired from the C & O Railroad and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Dr. Jerry Warren officiating. Entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the mortuary.
