Billy Mason Adkins

BILLY MASON ADKINS, a.k.a Mason B. Adkins, 93, of Huntington passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on May 21, 1918 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Eustis and Cora Bills Adkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Lanajean Adkins; a granddaughter, Sherry Lynn Adkins; four sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by a son, Gerald Adkins and his wife Sarah of Proctorville, OH; a grandson, David M. Adkins and his wife Christina of Scott Depot; a granddaughter, Kerry R. Berry and her husband Lonnie; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Adkins was retired from Peoples Insurance Company. An avid golfer, he was the past president of the Miami-Dade Golf Association. He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel, Huntington, with James Mcalister officiating.
