Bernice M. Husk

Bernice "Bernie" M. Husk, 95, of Sarasota, FL died Thursday, July 3, 2008 in Sarasota Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center.  Graveside services will be held a 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at Highland Cemetery, Huntington.  Burial will follow.  The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Monday at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.  She was born September 16, 1912, in Huntington, WV.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  Preceding her in death was her first husband, William "Bill" Taylor; all three sons, Lawrence "Bud", Richard and Jackson Taylor; and her second husband, Stan Husk.  Bernie retired from St. Mary's Hospital as a nurse in 1976 and then moved to FL in 1982 with her late husband, Stan.  Bernice lived with her son Jackson and his family for the past 25 years.  Survivors include daughter-in-law, Deborah Taylor of Sarasota, FL; four loving grandchildren, Michael Taylor and his wife, Vickie of Huntington, WV, Rick Taylor and his wife, Jami of Ironton, OH; Tiffany Taylor and Jackson Taylor, Jr. both of Sarasota, FL; a special nephew, Robert Lambert and his family of Huntington, WV.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, 1515 South Osprey Ave., Sarasota, FL c/o the Institute for Advances Medicine Neuroscience Center of Excellence.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at jacksontaylorfl@aol.com or www.beardmortuary.com
