Barbara Stewart

Barbara N. Stewart, 87 of Huntington, WV passed away on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Midland Meadows. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Memorial Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. She was born March 8, 1928 in Huntington the daughter of the late Irvin and Callie McKinley Scarberry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Henry Taylor Stewart; a daughter, Patricia Meadows; a granddaughter, Carrie Meadows; four brothers, Granville, Ralph, Randall and Paul Scarberry; a sister, Opal Edmunds; and three step brothers, Clarence, Arden and Clyde Scarberry. She was an active member and very involved with the youth programs at Thomas Memorial Freewill Baptist Church. She was a retired cook for Cabell County Schools. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jon Simpson of Chesapeake, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and LaDonna Stewart of Barboursville, WV; grandchildren, Laura Simpson, Kelli Ann Simpson and Kara Simpson all of Chesapeake; Erin Spears of Huntington, WV; Beth (Michael) Smith of Huntington and Tyler Stewart of Barboursville; a great granddaughter, Amelia Spears and several very special nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
