Anna Jean Meadows

Anna Jean (Clay) Meadows, 74, of Huntington passed away on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011. She was born on January 22nd, 1937 in Ona, the daughter of the late Virgil B and Murley Castle Clay. In addition to her parents, a sister, Phyllis Maxine Turner of Tucson, AZ, precedes Anna in death.  She is survived by a son, Russell (Deanne) Meadows of Phoenix, AZ; and a daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Lauhon of Huntington; sisters, Rosemary Walker of Rocklin, CA; Patricia Wright of Jupiter, FL; and Virginia Ilene Landau of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Virgil Clay of Oro Valley, AZ; grandchildren, Drew and Olivia Lauhon of Huntington; ex-husband, Bill Meadows of Barboursville; and a host of nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Meadows retired as an Elementary School Teacher devoted to the education of multiple generations of children in Cabell County from 1959 to 2001. In addition, she was instrumental in the Marshall University Student Teacher Program preparing aspiring teachers to provide quality education for generations to come.  A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Bob Hogsett officiating.
